Between the Ardèche and the Kyrgyz highlands, Bastien CHAIX takes us on a journey of reflection on our relationship with mountain territories. As a naturalist and ornithologist, Bastien travels through these wild areas to observe and study the fauna. He takes us to Kyrgyzstan in search of the snow leopard in a scientific expedition with the help of the OSI Panthera association. Between nomadic traditions and adventure on horseback, he takes us into these still preserved territories. Snow leopards occupy a huge territory in Central Asia, and in Kyrgyzstan they have been an integral part of the culture for thousands of years. Yet, although this is a country where large numbers still live, they are little studied. Other threats include the reduction of their territory and the decrease in the number of wild prey.
