Together for the mountain of tomorrow
HELP US PRESERVE OUR BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS
As a tourist destination, the commitment and involvement of our visitors are essential to protecting our natural environments. Access to the mountains is a privilege that calls on us all to change our habits and adopt responsible practices. To continue enjoying this exceptional natural heritage for years to come, we invite you to play an active role in its protection, alongside us.
Smoke-free / Ski-free
Cigarette butts are the most commonly collected waste during clean-up operations in ski areas, and a single one can pollute up to 500 litres of water.
To protect air quality and preserve the beauty of our mountains, ski slopes, lift queues and ski lifts are now smoke-free areas. French Decree No. 2025-582 of 27 June 2025 extended the ban on smoking to additional outdoor spaces, strengthening the protection of public health and the environment. This now includes all types of ski lifts (including chairlifts), lift queues and ski slopes. A nationwide measure that Vaujany welcomes as another step towards a cleaner, more enjoyable and more shareable mountain environment.
Go Far, Leave the Car!
Travelling to Vaujany? Why not choose lower-emission transport options?
It’s currently the most effective way to reduce your carbon footprint: a 500 km journey by high-speed train avoids around 107 kg of CO₂e compared with a petrol car.
You can take the train to Grenoble, then hop on the T75 bus line to Rochetaillée, where you can connect to the T71 or T70 line (on-demand service – remember to book by 2:30 pm the day before departure). To plan your journey more easily, visit: https://www.itinisere.fr/fr/itineraires/4/JourneyPlanner
Once in Vaujany, escalators and lifts make it easy to get around the village. Free shuttle buses also run between hamlets, making a 100% car-free stay entirely possible. Ready to give it a try?
If you’d like to go one step further, you can identify your main sources of carbon emissions and see which habits you could adjust. Vaujany invites you to complete your own carbon footprint assessment (in just 10 minutes) using the simulator developed by ADEME (https://nosgestesclimat.fr/) and explore actions that can help reduce the impact of your consumption (https://nosgestesclimat.fr/actions).
